About the role
Aurora needs reliable structured data from changing public interfaces and protocols. As a founding engineer focused on reverse engineering and data systems in Bangalore, you will build extraction pipelines that stay resilient as those interfaces evolve.
This is deep technical work with a production bar: debugging brittle surfaces, understanding protocols, and operating data systems that teams can depend on.
What you'll do
- Build and operate resilient public-data extraction systems that remain reliable as interfaces change.
- Analyze protocols and automate browser-based workflows where structured access is required.
- Debug and adapt pipelines quickly when upstream surfaces shift, with monitoring that catches breakage early.
- Design production-scale data systems — storage, freshness, and delivery — that other teams can build on.
What we're looking for
- 3–8 years of engineering experience with production ownership of data extraction, automation, or similar systems.
- Strong skills in protocol analysis, browser automation, and debugging changing interfaces.
- Comfort building and operating production-scale data systems with clear reliability expectations.
- High agency in ambiguous technical problems — you invent the path when documentation is incomplete.
Nice to have
- Experience with SerpAPI, ScrapingDog, or similar public-data platforms.
- Background hardening extractors against frequent upstream change.
- Experience with large-scale crawling, parsing, or data-quality pipelines.
- IIT/BITS/NIT graduate preferred.
Compensation
Competitive cash plus a meaningful founding-team ESOP grant. Final band depends on experience and evaluation.
